CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council celebrated Diamond Awards Week by announcing winners in 35 categories through a series of daily virtual award ceremonies.

Tropy 1200x630Turnout was outstanding for this year’s award competition with 1,278 entries submitted. Six credit unions won Best of Show Awards, 86 won Category’s Best Awards and 264 won Diamond Awards.

“The Diamond Awards competition is the most prestigious competition for excellence in marketing and business development in the credit union industry,” said Amy McGraw, Diamond Awards chair and VP marketing/chief experience officer at Tropical Financial CU. “Credit unions that receive these awards should be extremely proud of their accomplishments and know that their work represents the very best examples of creativity, innovation, relevance and execution.”

A Crisis Management category was added this year with a special discounted entry fee of $50. This new category plus donations from the virtual conference resulted in $5,000 in proceeds, which will be donated to Feeding America, an organization that is making a big impact across the country. Feeding America was the entrants’ overall top choice out of the three charitable organizations listed, which were: Feeding America, Family Promise and The Salvation Army. A representative from Feeding America joined the virtual awards ceremony to accept the donation.

Coast 360 FCU, a Maite, Guam based credit union (and associate member of HCUL) submitted a comprehensive crisis communication plan to win the Crisis Management Award. The plan incorporated branch signage, social media responses, a service guide for members, a stimulus check FAQs, targeted advertising and earned media, a website resource page, different video messaging, and a message from the CEO.
