Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union Distributes $20,000 in Gift Cards to Members in Need

Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union (APFCU) distributed at total of 108 gift cards to members whose livelihoods have been affected by the ongoing pandemic.

These include one hundred $200 Hawaii Restaurant Holiday Cards for Hawaii residents and eight $200 Visa gift cards for Mainland residents for a total of more than $20,000.

APFCU’s “Aloha and Kōkua” initiative asked members in need to apply by December 31. Nearly 1,400 members who were experiencing hardship from furloughs, job loss or reduced work hours or pay responded. The recipients were randomly drawn from this pool of applicants.

The Hawaii Restaurant Holiday Cards can be used at Hawaii restaurants, eateries, bakeries, and food caterers that accept debit Mastercard® through March 31, 2021.

“We received a number of very heartfelt comments from recipients,” said Vince Otsuka, president & CEO of Aloha Pacific. “We were just glad to be able to assist in these difficult times.”
