Guy Usui appointed CEO of HFDFCU

Hawaii’s only firefighter credit union appoints new chief executive.

Honolulu Fire Department Federal Credit Union (“HFDFCU”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Guy E. Usui as its new Chief Executive Officer effective November 6, 2020.

A veteran of the credit union industry, Usui was most recently Chief Financial Officer for the credit union, having joined HFDFCU in December 2014.

HFDFCU Board Chairman Guy Katayama said, “The future of the credit union is in good hands with Guy and our team of professionals.”

“I’m very humbled by the trust our Board of Directors has placed in me,” Usui noted. “Together with our great staff, we’ll build on our continuing commitment to our credit union members – especially to our firefighter members who put their trust in us as well.”

In the period Usui has been with HFDFCU, the credit union has grown 14.9% in assets and 109.4% in loans.

Founded in 1937, Honolulu Fire Department Federal Credit Union is Hawaii’s only firefighter credit union serving more than 5,400 members and with more than $75 million in assets.
