Everbridge, a League business partner since 2013, offers a comprehensive notification system that keeps everyone informed before, during, and after all events whether emergency or non-emergency.

everbridge web adEnables users to send notifications to individuals or groups using lists, locations, and visual intelligence. Whether your organization is new to Everbridge or have been using the system for years, providing system awareness to your message recipients contributes to the system being well received within your organization.

Here are various ways your organization can keep message recipients aware, engaged, and responsive to the system and the notifications you send.

  • Use Case Awareness  - When introducing the system to your message recipients, make them aware of which events (e.g. Severe Weather, Active Shooter, Fire/Evac, etc.) you intend to use the system for so they know when they can expect to receive notifications and why.
  • Publicize Sender Information - Make message recipients aware of who they will receive notifications from by publicizing your Sender Information (Sender Email Display and Sender Caller ID).
  • New Employee Orientation - A great way to provide system awareness is to include an introduction to the system and notifications as part of new employee orientation.
  • Media Outlets - If you are a city or county, you can leverage your social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) to provide system awareness, in addition to more traditional ways such as television and radio, and also let your community know where to sign up for alerts.
  • Confirmation - When providing system awareness, inform your message recipients on the various ways (based on Delivery Method) they can acknowledge receipt of the notifications you send by confirming.  For example, when you receive an e-mail, click on the link (Please click here to acknowledge receipt of this message) in the body of the e-mail to confirm.
  • Contact Info Updates - As mentioned to include as part of New Employee Orientation or as a reminder for existing employees, provide your message recipients with detailed information on where to go (e.g. HRIS System, Member Portal, etc.) to update their Contact information you use for Everbridge notifications.
  • Periodic Testing - Conducting quarterly, bi-yearly, or yearly tests will keep your contacts acclimated to the system as message recipients.
