You will hear stories of pediatric patients like Robin. Robin Ribac isn’t like most teenagers.

While the 18-year-old Ewa Beach teen loves some of the same things, like playing the ukulele, Robin wears a special badge of honor that many of her peers don’t: She’s a cancer survivor.

kcmn robinRobin has bravely battled cancer not once but twice! She’s powered through, all while attending most of high school remotely, including times during hospitalization at Kapi‘olani.

Unfortunately, a year after beating cancer, Robin relapsed. The second time, she needed a bone marrow transplant. Her little brother Ranger was a 100% donor match!

Sadly for some who need a bone marrow transplant, they may spend 3-12 months away from home, family and friends. At Kapi’olani we know that a lot of the healing process is being around family and friends and familiar places. Thanks to generous supporters like you Kapi‘olani ensures pediatric patients, like Robin, receive their transplant at home—without the need to travel to the mainland.

Robin hasn’t even let COVID-19 put a damper on her future plans of going to college. Tune in to hear more as Robin shares her inspiring story during today’s Radiothon for Kids.

Every day, children from all over the Pacific Region depend on the specialized care that only Kapi‘olani can provide. We want you to know that your donation is essential to ensure Hawai‘i’s children receive the best medical services right here at home regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

Every patient at Kapi‘olani has a story, tune in during the Radiothon for Kids to hear their courageous stories.

Please give generously and help us support kids no matter their illness or injury. Please give today!
