Hawaii Community FCU’s Hilo Branch welcomed more than 600 people on Saturday, June 25, when the credit union marked its first anniversary with a drive-thru celebration offering giveaways and free bentos to-go at its Aupuni Street location.

The credit union’s Hilo Branch opened its doors last year.

The event provided a pandemic-safe, family fun opportunity for Hilo and East Hawaii residents. The health and safety of credit union staff, volunteers, and participants were a top priority.

Guests drove through several stations on the credit union property. Volunteers wearing facemasks distributed giveaways and bentos with limited physical contact.
