At Access, safety and security of our team members and clients is our top priority.

280x130web Access Logo rgb Full Color 092419We are sending this letter as a reminder to all the clients we serve about items we’ve found in the destruction bins and consoles during collection. Recently, Access team members found highly flammable items such as cell phones and batteries in the Access secure destruction bins and consoles.

To fully destroy information, Access uses high turbine shredders within our shred facilities. Batteries, metal products, and cellphones can cause fires. Please do not use Access destruction bins and consoles to dispose of these types of items.

In addition, some of our secure destruction locations have found Medical, Pharmaceutical and/or Hazardous Waste (including sharps) during the collection process. These items present a serious safety and health risk as they can cause cuts, abrasions, and exposure to disease. Access is not licensed to transport or process sharps or medical wastes. Should we find sharp objects or medical waste while servicing destruction units, we are obligated to have clients remove them prior to taking the bins and consoles. If clients are unable or can’t remove these items, Access reserves the right to refuse the contaminated containers.

Access secure bins are designed for the collection of paper and paper products only. We ask that you please refrain from placing any other items in the secure destruction bins to help us stay safe.

We value our partnership with you to securely destroy your vital information and hope you look forward to serving you for years to come.
