Inclusiv asks credit unions to urge members of Congress to fund CDFI

on "March 24, 2020 2:03 pm"

An urgent request from Inclusiv Membership Engagement Manager Jules Epstein-Hebert.

Inclusiv (FKA National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions) is requesting $1 billion in supplementary funding for CDFIs as part of the emergency spending legislation currently under consideration. We are also working with the CDFI Coalition and CUNA to advocate for additional funds to be included in the stimulus bill for CDFI credit unions. We are asking for your help in calling for this supplemental funding.

We know that this is a difficult time for our members and the communities you serve, but this funding could make a real difference for the movement and alleviate some of the challenges our communities are facing. If you have a few minutes in the next few days, I have attached to this message a template funding request along with talking points you may want to reference. Please send your version of the funding request to your elected members of Congress and let them know that we as CDCUs have the expertise and ability to rapidly deploy Federal funds to the communities hardest hit by this crisis.
