The 2020 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference saw record attendance with over 5,000 participants from across the nation making the journey to Washington D.C. for this signature event. Over 60 Hawaii credit union officials flew thousands of miles to the event, which included exclusive meetings at NCUA and Callahan & Associates prior to GAC.

Hawaii credit unions were well represented in the CUNA “Crash the GAC” program tailored to young professionals in the industry. This year, Hawaii Community FCU’s Marketing Coordinator Cameron Miculka was selected as Hawaii’s “Crasher”. Miculka not only participated in the GAC events, he also took part in separate “Crasher” events.

“Hike the Hill” is an integral part of the annual GAC. This year, over 70 credit union professionals, volunteers, and guests met with Hawaii’s congressional delegation in the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center.

An exclusive Hawaii credit union event is the Chinese dinner, where special guests from system related organizations (e.g. CUNA, CUNA Mutual, etc.) and lawmakers gather to share a great meal and casual conversation.

CUNA GAC offered sessions lead by nationally recognized speakers, an expansive exhibit hall, and award events.
