Kekaha CU took an active part in community events recently.

On Thursday, October 24, the Kekaha CU participated in Kekaha Senior Center 50th Anniversary Celebration. Advisory Board Director Dennis Eguchi and Kekaha Credit Union Branch Manager Ursie Munar volunteered by serving food to the seniors and presented a lei and special gift bag to 97-year-old member Sakiko Okihara, who was recognized as the center’s Living Treasure.

Okihara is the oldest member at the center and still participates in many activities such as visiting the local care centers, where she entertains with her ukulele. She has been a member of Kekaha CU for over 60 years.

On Friday, October 25, Kekaha CU staff and advisory board directors Dennis Eguchi and Garrett Agena volunteered at the first annual Show Up and Glow Up Halloween event, sponsored by the Kekaha School Parent Teacher Association. The event provided a safe and fun environment for local children to celebrate Halloween with treats, games, a costume contest, and free movie. The credit union assisted with the games, helped judge the Halloween Costume Contest, and donated the prizes for costume contest winners.
