BSA Analyst

Primary Responsibilities:

Assists the Credit Union’s Compliance/BSA department with ensuring full compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, internal policies, procedures, and processes as they relate to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), Customer Identification Programs (CIP) and other related laws and regulations. Maintain proficient knowledge of BSA regulations, trends, and issues impacting the credit union. 

Essential Duties:

  1. Support the Credit Union’s BSA/Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Program with fraud investigations. Monitor and track members and accounts for fraudulent activity. Complete appropriate investigations, review, and reporting process that promotes consistent decisions, adequate investigation, and research, and complete and detailed documentation. 
  2. Assist in performing the daily functions of the BSA area. Monitor accounts and transactions to ensure that policies and procedures and related forms meet regulatory requirements and timeframes as required by the respective regulatory agencies.  
  3. Assesses risk potential of current procedures and propose new procedures that minimize loss exposure. 
  4. Disseminates information, answers questions, and be the subject matter resource for the credit union on all compliance-related issues.
  5. Perform other risk related duties as assigned including assist with developing and maintaining procedures related to BSA/AML/OFAC compliance. 

Other Duties:

  1. Represent Hawaii Central in community events, as appropriate.
  2. Actively participate in credit union functions.
  3. Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  1. College degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Five years experience in credit union or other financial institution in BSA/AML, or related areas.
  3. Knowledge of credit union regulations.
  4. Must be organized, analytical with an attention to detail and able to meet deadlines with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects/tasks.
  5. Must have strong PC skills, including Word.
  6. Must be able to communicate (both in oral and written form) effectively and professionally to internal and external customers.
