While hundreds of millions of dollars are appropriated to the CDFI Fund annually, these resources are underutilized in Hawaii.

cdfilogo copyCongressman Ed Case is hosting a webinar about the CDFI fund on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 9:30 AM HST. The webinar features Jodie Harris, director of the CDFI Fund in Washington, D.C., and will provide information on the CDFI Fund's programming and resources that can be levered by community development financial institutions in Hawaii.

The CDFI Fund promotes economic revitalization in distressed communities throughout the nation by providing financial assistance, technical assistance awards, and certifications to Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)-insured community development financial institutions and microloan funds. CDFI certified organizations have access to a number of the fund's capital access programs, such as the Financial Assistance Program, Technical Assistance Program, Bank Enterprise Award Program, and the New Markets Tax Credit Program. It is important to note that qualified CDFIs are not limited to traditional FDIC-insured financial institutions and can encompass a variety of community organizations that offer lending programs. Please see list of CDFIs currently serving Hawaii.
