There will be six 45-minute sessions followed by a 15-minute break between sessions and a 60-minute break for lunch each day. 

Day 1: Consumer Lending

  1. Truth in Lending Act / Regulation Z – disclosure and advertising requirements for both closed-end and open-end loans
  2. CARD Act – compliance requirements specific to credit cards including periodic statements, ability to repay rules, limitation on fees, etc.
  3. Fair Credit Reporting Act / Regulation V – affiliate marketing rules, risk-based pricing notices and requirements associated with firm offers of credit
  4. Equal Credit Opportunity Act / Regulation B – protected classifications, recognized forms of discrimination and adverse action notices
  5. Lending to Active Duty Servicemembers – compliance requirements under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act and the Military Lending Act
  6. Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and UDAAP – avoiding unfair, deceptive, and abusive acts and practices in the collection of consumer debts

Day 2:  Real Estate Lending 

  1.  Mortgage Loan Originator Fundamentals – the SAFE Act, E-SIGN Act, RESPA Section 8, and loan originator compensation rules
  2.  Lifecycle of a Mortgage Loan / Application – application disclosures specific to real estate loans and the collection of monitoring information
  3.  Lifecycle of a Mortgage Loan / Underwriting and Closing – ability to repay, high-cost mortgages, higher priced mortgage loans, appraisals, and flood insurance
  4.  Lifecycle of a Mortgage Loan / Servicing – periodic statement requirements, escrow requirements, rules specific to delinquent borrowers and much more!
  5. Special Loans – home equity lines of credit, adjustable rate mortgages and PMI requirements under the Homeowner’s Protection Act
  6. HMDA / Regulation C and the Fair Housing Act – the data collection and reporting requirements under HMDA as well as the non-discrimination provisions found in the Fair Housing Act
